Vineyards and Vintage Conditions

Fruit for this wine was sourced from select vineyards along the fertile banks of the Murray River in South Australia’s Riverland. The 2022 growing season was marked by a cool spring and a mild, dry summer, which provided ideal conditions for even ripening and vibrant fruit flavours. The combination of warm days and cool nights allowed the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to develop deep colour, ripe tannins, and lifted aromatics while maintaining natural acidity.

Winemaking

Harvested at optimum ripeness, the fruit was crushed and fermented on skins in temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermenters to extract rich colour and varietal character. Gentle pump-overs during fermentation ensured soft tannin development and a balanced structure. After fermentation, a portion of the wine was matured in seasoned French and American oak barrels, adding complexity and a hint of spice while preserving the vibrant fruit profile typical of Riverland Cabernet.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep ruby with purple edges.

Aroma: Bright aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and ripe plum with subtle hints of cedar, vanilla and soft spice.

Palate: Medium-bodied and smooth, offering juicy black fruit flavours, fine-grained tannins and a touch of dark chocolate.

Finish: Long and satisfying, with lingering notes of blackberry and gentle oak.
