Winery Overview

Angove Family Winemakers is one of Australia’s longstanding wine families. Their Organic range uses fully certified organic vineyards (including the Nanya Vineyard in Riverland), minimal intervention practices, and promotes sustainability in both vineyard and winery methods.

Overview of the Wine

This Merlot 2021 delivers ripe fruit expression with depth and richness, while still showing elegance. It’s approachable now but has enough structure to evolve with a few years’ cellaring. 

Winemaking

Grapes are sourced from organic vineyards, harvested to capture optimal ripeness. Fermentation and maturation include careful use of oak to complement the fruit without overpowering it.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Deep ruby red with magenta hues.

• Aroma: Raspberry, plum and dark red fruits, intertwined with subtle oak and spicy mocha notes.

• Palate: Plush and juicy, with rich dark red fruit flavours, a touch of oak to add complexity, and smooth, developing tannins.

• Finish: Long and rounded, with lingering berry and oak tones that balance well.

Food Pairing

Pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef dishes, vegetable stews, or hearty pasta. Also works well with aged cheeses.
